In the book “Al Bidaya wa Nihaya” of the great sunni scholar Ibn Kathir we can read on page 360 that after the death of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) it was said by people that he (pbuhahp) left behind a Testament appointing Imam Ali (as) as the Khaleef over the muslims.
Now after these claims we can see Aisha denying this and also Ibn Kathir himself rejects this idea in his book. However my question would be, where are this claims from these people coming from? We can clearly read that the people were talking about a testament in which Imam Ali (as) was appointed as the Khaleef.
SubhanaAllah, the evidences are everywhere that the Prophet (pbuhahp) left behind a Holy Testament, if you hold on to this you will never go astray.
Also shocking is the statement of Aisha in which she claimed to be the last one with the Prophet (pbuhahp) and that he died without wudu astagfirullah.
– “It is decreed that when death approaches, you shall write a will for the benefit of the parents and relatives, equitably. This is a duty upon the righteous.”

– Narrated Abdullah bin Umar:
Allah’s Apostle said, “It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him.”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 51, Number 1)
– When Allah’s Apostle was on his deathbed there were some people in the house and among was Umar bin Al-Khattab, so the Prophet said, “Come, let me write for you a statement after which you will never go astray .” Umar said, “The Prophet is seriously ill, we have the Book of Allah, it is enough for us.” The people present in the house differed and quarrelled. Some said, “Go to him so that the Prophet may write for you a statement after which YOU WILL NEVER GO ASTRAY,” where others said the same as what Umar said. When they caused a disagreement and a cry before the Prophet, Allah’s Apostle said, “Go away!” Ubaidullah narrated that Ibn Abbas said,, “It was very unfortunate that Allah’s Apostle was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise.”
